What is Stemwave Therapy?

Stemwave therapy is a phrase commonly used by SoftWaveTRT providers that typically refers to extracorporeal shock wave therapy using a SoftWaveTRT device. The terms ‘stemwave therapy’ and ‘SoftWave therapy’ are often used interchangeably.

What is SoftWave Therapy and What Makes it Different from Shockwave Therapy?

SoftWave Therapy is a treatment involving SoftWave Technology that applies short, frequent, and high intensity bursts of mechanical energy (in the form of a shock wave) into soft tissue that is injured, scarred, contains adhesions, is painful, or inflamed. SoftWave is currently the only company that offers broad focused true shock wave technology in their devices. The therapy provided by a SoftWaveTRT device has a wider and deeper therapeutic energy zone than other ESWT devices on the market. Is SoftWave TRT FDA Approved?

Is shockwave therapy with SoftWave TRT Painful?

How Long is a SoftWave therapy treatment?

Each individual session of SoftWave therapy only takes 5-15 minutes and is typically recommended to be done on a once-a-week basis for 3-5 weeks. Each condition that is treated with SoftWave TRT is unique and may require more or less treatment time. Most patients experience improvement after the first session.

Is SoftWave Therapy covered by insurance?

At this time, this is a cash-based procedure.

Are there any side effects associated with SoftWave Therapy?

For some, redness and soreness can occur, but usually subsides in a day or two.

Can SoftWave Therapy be used in conjunction with other treatments?

Yes, it can, however, it is up to the provider. We found SoftWave therapy to be effective on its own, but it has also been shown to be even more effective when combined with other forms of therapy, including physical therapy, chiropractic, massage, soft tissue mobilization, etc.

Are there any restrictions right after treatment?

You should follow your provider’s instructions and avoid taking any pain medicine or engaging in activities that could aggravate the injured area.
